SwiftRoute Cuts Average Delivery Times by 38% Using Proprietary AI Route Optimisation Engine
SwiftRoute Logistics has reported a 38% reduction in average delivery times across its European network following the full rollout of its AI-powered route optimisation engine.
SwiftRoute Logistics today published the results of a 12-month performance review following the full network-wide rollout of RouteAI, its proprietary artificial intelligence route optimisation engine.
Key findings:
- 38% reduction in average delivery time across 2.3 million monthly deliveries
- 22% reduction in fuel consumption per parcel, driven by optimised multi-stop sequencing
- 94.7% on-time delivery rate, up from 81.2% pre-rollout
- 15% reduction in failed delivery attempts through predictive time-window modelling
RouteAI processes 40 real-time data inputs per delivery — including live traffic, weather, driver performance history, parcel dimensions and weight, and recipient behaviour patterns — to continuously recalculate optimal routes throughout the delivery day.
“A 38% improvement in delivery time is not an incremental optimisation — it is a step change in what last-mile logistics can deliver,” said SwiftRoute CTO Anouk de Vries. “RouteAI learns from every delivery and gets measurably better every quarter.”
SwiftRoute Logistics operates 12 regional hubs and 3,800 delivery vehicles across 14 European countries.
