GreenBasket Launches Zero-Emission Grocery Delivery in Five European Cities
GreenBasket has launched its zero-emission grocery delivery service, using electric cargo bikes and solar-powered micro-fulfilment hubs, in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Vienna.
GreenBasket, a sustainable grocery delivery company, today launched its service simultaneously in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Vienna, delivering groceries exclusively by electric cargo bike from solar-powered micro-fulfilment hubs located within 3 kilometres of each delivery zone.
The company sources exclusively from certified organic farms and local producers within a 300-kilometre radius of each city, with packaging made entirely from compostable or deposit-return materials.
Delivery slots are available within two hours of ordering, with a €4.99 delivery fee and no minimum order. A carbon offset statement is included with every order showing emissions avoided versus a conventional diesel van delivery.
“We believe zero-emission grocery delivery should be accessible and affordable, not a niche premium product,” said co-founder and CEO Nadia van Dijk. “Our model proves you can be fast, cheap, and clean at the same time.”
GreenBasket has raised €31 million from impact investors to date and expects to be operational in 15 cities by the end of 2026.
